On to Mittenwald

Devin awoke at 6 and took a hike back to the town to get some more sightseeing in. I took the boring logical route and stayed in bed. Our bed and breakfast served breakfast at 8 and I was there at 7:55 to get some coffee. Priorities.

Breakfast

Devin joined me at 8 and we had a lovely breakfast reviewing our plans for today. We had originally planed to take a cab back to the train station but since the weather was good we decided to walk back and give ourselves time to browse the shops that were open.

We found a chocolate shop and picked up a bar of dark chocolate and a bag of truffles. The truffles turned out to be booze infused and were perfect for our morning stroll. After a leisurely walk through the town we made it to the train station.

Mittenwald

Our train rides would be far less eventful than yesterday. We had three transfers and all were on time and made it to our destination, Mittenwald, at 4:30.  We got a little lost trying to find our BnB and almost walked the entire town in an effort to locate it.  After making it to our BnB we decided to go for a stroll to explore and find dinner.

We had dinner at a place called the Potato Sack. It had all different kinds of potato dishes and the waitress was a riot. She spoke English pretty good and let us know that we just missed Obama. Devin and I both wished we spoke German so we could interact better on this trip.

After dinner we went on a short hike that our BnB owner recommended. There is apparently a trail system around the city that links to other towns and even goes into Austria. We might do more of it tomorrow. The trail was nicely maintained and the waterfall was very pretty.
