A Full Feline Van

We made it to Kansas City close to midnight. When I checked into the hotel it was all done with about 6 feet of separation as prescribed by health officials. The hotel usually has free breakfast but had reduced service to bagged options consisting yogurt and fruit.

Cats are like kids

We had to make several trips back and forth from the van to get all the cats and their stuff. It felt like we had kids until we remembered that we would not be able to lock a child up in a animal carrier and leave them in either the van or the hotel room by themselves.

Once in the hotel room we released the fur monsters and they started their mandatory exploration of the room. Marco is probably the best explorer of the bunch because he lacks a fear instinct that most cats have.

Flat Nebraska and Snowy Wyoming

The majority of driving today was through two states. Nebraska is incredibly boring from the highway. Its just flat and field after field. Traffic was great as most of the traffic has just been tractor trailer trucks. We made a late afternoon pit stop to grab some food through a drive through and feed and water the cats in the parking lot of a Walmart.

Wyoming was pretty much the same as Nebraska until we got into the mountains and the snow started. Had it been under different circumstances we would have pulled off to the side of the road and either slept in the car or waited for it to pass. Unfortunately that would have been difficult for the cats who do not eat or drink water much when in the car. Devin drove for 2 hours at 45 miles an hour through the snow until we made it to Rock Springs WY.

Someone isn’t happy with Direct TV.

Completely tired out after our 13 hour 870 mile drive we finally made it to the hotel. This receptionist wasn’t messing around as she had me read my credit card number from across the lobby. Thankfully it was late at night and the lobby was empty. We performed our multiple trips up and down to get the cats and us into the hotel room.
