Our campsite was on an island called Grassy Island and we awoke to a sunrise that illuminated the mountains. Our amazing guide crew had coffee ready, and breakfast would be up soon. As a coffee person, I was struck by how difficult it is making coffee in the woods for this many people. There ended up being a line of zombies waiting as multiple waves of coffee were distributed to the hoard.
The quality and amount of food on this trip was unexpected. French toast and fresh fruit were served to the now caffeinated campsite.
While breakfast was being cleaned up, we explored this island. A yoga class was offered to stretch all those muscles that were used on the previous day. Our itinerary for the day was to go on a small paddle and do a hike to get a good view of the lake.
The lake was much smoother today and the paddle was very short. Landing on the shore we distributed more snacks, packed our lunches in our packs, and changed into shoes more suitable for hiking.
After making it back to camp and eating dinner Devin and I made the decision to sleep on the shore under the stars. It was rocky but the super thick pads provided were more than enough to keep it comfortable.
