Between Bruges and Brussels is Ghent and Gravensteen Castle. The Dutch name means Castle of the Counts. Inside was a self guided tour with some light history of the middle ages. Some of the text was in English while some was not. The text next to these weaponry was all in Dutch.
But no worries we just used google translate on our phones and all was translated. It’s not perfect because one of the descriptions left me a little puzzled about the use of one of those swords.
More steps to the top provided us with a pretty nice view of Ghent.
Do you have a flag?
They even had a castle flag on their castle.
And since this is a blog about travel and ice cream. Devin did pick up some ice cream before we got back on the train. That face she’s making is because she’s realized that the Australian ice cream is made with kangaroo milk.
