In contrast leisure travel is completely different in many respects. Luggage is bulkier with a different set of accoutrements, excitement about where you are going, and you show up at the airport earlier because you’re much more excited about leaving home. First and foremost the best part is leisure travel is the fun.
Newark, NJ
On our first flight to Newark, NJ I tried to slip the pilot a 5 spot with the unspoken message that I wanted him to fly this bus as fast as possible which is customary in this country. Having attempted this on past flights I am familiar with the rejection. Perhaps a fiver is not enough and I should increase the tip size.
We tracked down Linda’s arrival gate and we realized she was flying to a section of the airport we needed a bus to get to. The man securing the bus waiting area let me pass after I explained that we were meeting someone at gate 27A. Devin made a sign so that Linda would know who we are.
It seems like Linda made it in one piece from Albany, NY. There’s no way to know for sure but she appears to be functioning as expected. Special thanks to my parents who were very kind to drive her to the airport.
Venice, Italy
Venice’s airport is named after famed explorer and hidden identity water-based games – Marco Polo and we didn’t stick around long. I picked up some cash while Devin got transport from the airport to the island of Venice. Our AirBnB check in was later in the day so we stashed our luggage with a luggage storage business. Water buses are the way to travel in Venice. Giving you the biggest bang for your Euro.
We made it Murano where there is glass blowing but we were so tired from jet lag and the flight that we called it a day and headed back to the AirBnB.
