I completely forgot to include a story in my Breathe In, Breathe Out post! After I pointed out a swimming monitor lizard to Chris, we had a discussion about why they freaked him out so much. One of the points to his explanation was that they are at least 3 raccoons on the danger scale.
There you have it! Raccoons are the measurement we use on the danger scale and a monitor lizard is at least 3 raccoons. I’m not sure if we factor intelligence into this as well. Hmm. This could be interesting.
I’m also not sure how Bangkok streets fare on the danger scale. Are they more or less than 3? Some of them have been pretty harrowing in my opinion. Far more so than the monitor lizard that barely looked at us.
I’ll report back if I get any additional information!

I asked Chris to proofread this post prior to publishing because it isn’t my goal to embarrass him or tell untruths about him. Turns out this was all a misunderstanding! He was using raccoons as a size measurement, not a danger measurement which automatically makes this post far less exciting.
But also, why raccoons for size? Not weight? Not dogs? Not bears? Not children? Not people? To be honest, I now have far more questions!
LOL!! I used to enjoy using a golden retriever as my measurement. Not sure why I stopped.
My first thought was that he was talking about size. But then I loved your interpretation!! Disappointed to find out it was size.
I would like to understand what you will now plan to use for danger scale moving forward! I think this is needed!
